June 2010
We are coming to the end of a lovely autumn and I have been fortunate to have been able to spend five days on the Central Otago Bike Trail. I think that I can count myself blessed as I struck five perfect days in a row; no wind, no rain, cold frosty nights and warm sunny autumn days. When most of my working life has been spent indoors to have the gift of five perfect days outdoors in Central Otago, where the scenery is so different from what I am used to was a real blessing. It was good to see so many families out on bikes enjoying ordinary things, picnicking on the side of the track and everyone you meet seemed to be a friend. I came back to work grateful for the number of small miracles I had experienced in a short time and hoping that I can continue to ride a bike for a few more years to come.
Sr Rae (left) and Sr Sue2010 has been a year when some Sisters have experienced life changing health problems and some have had to go into care and others have had serious illnesses. It is at times like this that you realise how short life really is. The lesson for me is to enjoy the day and where possible to help others enjoy the day also. I take this opportunity to thank all our friends for their support and interest. I pray that the winter months will have many small miracles for all of you. 23 June 2010
