Paul & Sr Rae looking over photos
On Sunday we had a visit from Paul Irvine. He lives in Northam, near Perth in Western Australia. Paul contacted us some years ago in relation to Sisters James and Flora as they had both cared for him when he was in the Boys Home at Castledare. He is in Wellington for a week. His main purpose for coming was to visit the Sisters of Compassion and to place wreathes on both Sisters James and Flora’s graves. Rae, Brian Rogers and I went with Paul to the Karori Cemetery after dinner. Yesterday was a beautiful Wellington day and our journey with Paul was a special time. While Paul was at Island Bay he was able to look at photograph albums of the Sisters of Compassion time at Castledare. It was a joy to watch him look through the albums. He was able to name many of the boys and smiled broadly when he found himself in some of the group photos.
