In early December 2009 Tineke was appointed Chief Executive at Aubert Home of Compassion in Wanganui. Tineke has worked in Health Management for over 25 years and prior to her appointment worked as an independent management consultant.
She completed the role as Chief Executive for Quality Health New Zealand, based in Wellington in July 2005. A number of organisations have achieved positive outcomes in health accreditation and audit due to her extensive quality improvement experience at national and international levels. Her career has seen her leading a number of significant projects. ![]() As the Group Manager for Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Services at Mid Central Health, she was responsible for the work towards the deinstitutionalisation of the Kimberley Centre at Levin. Tineke was the first appointed Investigations Manager for the Health and Disability Commissioner and made a significant contribution to the implementation of then new legislation. For three years, Tineke chaired the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Women’s Health for the Government, and has had appointments on legal services, research and ethic committees. For four years she was the CEO of Brightwater Centre – a hospital, dementia and rest home facility in Palmerston North. Tineke has recently completed her role as Chairperson of Central Energy Trust responsible for the investment of over forty five million dollars and distribution of funds to the community. Until March 2003 she was a Director of the Palmerston North Showground (Arena Manawatu) and chaired the audit committee. With a tertiary qualification in health as a School Dental Nurse, she worked for many years as the ‘Tooth Fairy’ in the rural areas of the King Country. As a judicial JP since 1990 she has sat on the bench for deposition hearings and is an independent registered civil celebrant. In 1991 she was awarded the Waikato Business Person of the Year Special Award, and in February 2000 the Wellington Regional winner of the ASB Bank and NZIM Women Manager of the Year Award. Tineke is enjoying her role with the staff, residents and their families. She is looking forward to adding value with the Board of Directors, to the current services provided by the Home and the strengthening of the Home’s clinical governance with the special interest in the development for end of life care. 15 March 2010
