Birthday parties

And more…

DOLBOH says: "Little children enter a world of make believe, and together we share a short time of mystery. Older people enjoy the occasion as ‘a breath of fresh air into their routine home nursing situation.’ Clowning can deliver a message about positive aspects of life, the values of hope joy and peace, in a fun way.

Dolboh the ClownWhen a person has been sitting either in the nursing home lounge or in Cuba Mall (Wellington city) for a period of time they can get a dazed look on their face. I make contact with them and see their faces light up with joy. More happens when a person engages in the activities, like blowing and catching bubbles!

I enjoy going to birthday parties as the surprise guest. This has been so much fun at places like Valentines restaurant, as everyone there becomes involved in some way. There are no expectations other than enjoyment and fun!

DOLBOH the Clown is also known as Sister Margaret Anne Mills.

‘As a Sister of Compassion I enjoy the opportunity to encounter and engage with people in a variety of ways. On discovering the clown within I found that there was another medium to reach out with, especially to the very young and very old. At times it has been a spiritual experience, as the gifts of delight and joy flow amongst us.’
